  • Why Seated Design Matters

Many clients who come to Barim for correction or removal share a similar experience from their previous cosmetic tattoo treatment — their brows were designed while lying down, they had limited opportunity to properly review the shape, or the treatment began before they felt completely confident with the design.

Unfortunately, a brow shape that appears balanced while lying down may look quite different once you sit up.

Cosmetic tattooing is performed on a living, moving face. The position of the skin changes between lying down and sitting upright, while facial muscles naturally move with blinking, smiling and expression.

That’s why at Barim, your brow design is created while you are seated with your eyes open. We assess your natural asymmetry, eye position, brow movement and overall facial balance, and recheck the design multiple times throughout the process.

Most importantly, tattooing will not begin until you have reviewed and approved the final shape.

Because a cosmetic tattoo shouldn’t simply look balanced on the treatment bed — it should look natural and balanced when you’re actually living your life.

  • Safety Is Not Optional at Barim

At Barim, safety and hygiene are never compromised.

Every needle and cartridge used for cosmetic tattooing is sterile, single-use and opened in front of you immediately before your procedure. Once used, it is disposed of and never reused.

We use carefully selected, high-quality pigments and professional supplies from trusted manufacturers in Korea and the United States.

All treatments at Barim are performed in a fully council-approved studio, operating in accordance with local health regulations and professional hygiene requirements.

For us, safety isn’t an extra feature — it’s the foundation of every treatment.

If it’s not something we would feel comfortable using on our own family, we would never use it on our clients.

Our Philosophy & Experience

Barim is a Korean cosmetic tattoo studio in Adelaide, led by husband-and-wife artists Happy and Marcus.

The name Barim comes from a Korean word meaning to refine, enhance and bring out natural beauty. This philosophy sits at the heart of our work — focusing not on dramatic change, but on subtle, balanced enhancement that feels effortless and timeless.

Rooted in Korea, a global centre of beauty innovation, we combine trend-aware aesthetics with research-driven precision to create results that feel current while remaining natural and harmonious over time.

Over the years, we have trained artists worldwide and mentored students who went on to win Grand Prix and World Grand Prix titles at international competitions. Many now contribute to the industry as judges, educators and leaders.

Alongside education, we remain actively involved in hands-on cosmetic tattooing, performing over 1,000 treatments annually. This experience continues to shape our approach to skin, technique, pigment selection and healed results.

Our focus is not simply on how a cosmetic tattoo looks immediately after treatment, but how it heals, settles and ages over time.

For us, cosmetic tattooing is both an art and a responsibility.
